The Feilding " Tuis."

A minstrel entertainment was given in the Assembly Rooms last evening before a very good audience, by the Feilding " Tuis." The majority of the items were very well rendered, and the audience showed their appreciation by loudly applauding and encoring several of them. The jokes by the corner men were very crisp, and created much laughter. Mr A. Butler, as bones, was a host in himself while Mr H. FJyger, as tambo, was very good, Me T. A. Howell acting as interlocutor. The overture and chorus, "Wings of Loye," by the " Tuis," went with a swing, and Mr A. Butler was encored for the song •• Switchback Railway," and, also, for the song " Eazors in the Air ;" these items were amoogst the best of the evening and were deservedly applauded. Mr F. Beechy was encored for the song *' Wi>en birds a»d blossoms dream," and Mr H. Flyger was recalled for the song " I was in it." Mr Flyger alsosang "Climbing up the golden stairs." Mr A. Durant sang " Leave me not in anger, darling," and Mr T. A. Howell gave " Ole Kentucky borne." Mr H. Isaacs sang " 010 Virginny," but was very tame. The choruses by the " Tuis " to these two songs went with a pleasant swing. The trio " Wooden-legged brigade " by Messrs Butler, Flyger, and Beechy was very funny and was en cored. The second part consisted of an overture by Mr R. F. Haybittle's string band, followed by the character song " Old log cabin in the dell " by Mr F. Beechy, which was encored. Mr R. F. Haybittle sang " Where did you get that hat ?" Mr Butler gave the dramatic re citation " How he died," which was cleverly given. Hr Flyger sang " Dree tousand miles away " in character, and was encored. Mr Durant sang " Nellie Ray." The comic duet " Local police, men," by Messrs R F Haybittle and F Beechy was very funny and created roars of laughter. The entertainment concluded with the farce " Signor Frangipani's Waxworks," the characters being represented as follows; — Sigaor Frangipani, Mr R F Haybittle; Long Jim, Mr H Flyger; Bob, Mr A Butler; Deaf Joe, Mr F Beechy ; Hannibal Washington, Mr T A Howell ; Greenacre Greeneye, Mr G Worsfold ; Detective Bullseye, Mr A Durrant ; Mrs Greeneye, Mr Isaacs. The Bong 3 were accompanied by Mr Haybit tie's orchestra. Dnring the evening the winner of the Lady's Bracelet event at the Athletic* Sports was presented with his prize by Mr R F Haybittie.
