Sensational Attempt at Suicide.
(Per Press Association.) Sydnky, This Day. A sensational attempt at suicide was made at Her Majesty's Thaatre last evening. During the pantomine performance a man named Smith, who was sitting in the top gallery, after remarking to a companion " I am full up of life," dived over the rails into the stalls of the theatre, which is a three-tier one, and the marvel is that the man's terrible act did not kill someone sitting in the stalls. Fortunately he fell between two people, smashing three chairs to atoms. The man was picked up in a half -senseless state, but, singular to say, he is not supposed by medical men to be in a dangerous condition. No bones were broken, but he was injured internally. So suddenly did the whole thing occur, and as the theatre was in semi-darkness, very few were aware of the incident, the man being removed very quickly. His fall was forty feet.
