The Wool Market.

(Per Press Association.) London, December 7. . At the wool auctions a good selection was offered, and prices all round were of an upward tendency, especially for finest qualities. Mr Balme's report is that the new clip compares unfavourably with last year's in regard to length and staple, and freedom from fault, though finer and lighter in yolk. The central districts of New South Wales shows signs of having suffered severely from the drought. The River- [ ma and South Australian consignments are excellent in every respect. Sydney, Dec. 7. During the week 32,700 bales ot wool were offered, and 28,400 sold. Medium and best greasies continued very firm at last week's values, while inferior and faulty sorts were in better requests. The same applies to good bushy fleeces ; skirting, and lambs' wool. Best crossbreds slightly better, but inferior classes weaker. Scouted wools maintained the improvement of last week. The largest purchases continue to be made by Continental buyers, but all other sections operate freely on the wools suited to their requirments. The total number of bales sold to date was 248,900. Melbourne, Dec. 7. The wool market is exceedingly brisk, and there is keen competion. Advances in all classes were fully maintained. Good merino have advanced from a farthing to a half-penny, crosabreds firm and scoured in good demand. A parcel of the latter sold up to Is 2|d.
