(Per Pkess association). Sydney, December 8. The Cycling Carnival was resumed yesterday in fine weather, and with a large attendance of spectators. Following are the results : — Austral Wheel Race.— Crisp (Tasmania), 255,yd5, 1 ; Peart (Victoria) 230 yards, 2; Gargurevicb, 230>'dg, 3. Won easily by 20yds. Parsons and Pitber, on the 80yds mark, had no chance with the long start men, and pulled off at the sixth lap, The win of Crisp, who is only 20 venra of age, created a great surprise, as he has only been cycling for the last eighteen months. Time, 4min 42 l-sth seconds. Five-mile Intercolonial Scratch Race. — Parsons (Victoria), 1 ; Martin (America) 2 ; Porta (Italy), 3. Parsons caught the pacing tandem in the first lap, and hanging on to it led all the way, pulling up by half a lap. Martin beat Porta by 20yds. Time, 12min 34 l-sth sees. Par bod 8 aftrrwarda gave an exhibition lap, and paced by a triplet tandem covered the distance in 28 4-sth sees, which is the record. Victorian Club Race, 1£ miles.— Payne, 95yds, 1 ; Bungeg, 205 yds, 2 ; Mclnnes, 85yds, S. Close finish. Time, Smin 36 2 sth aces. A French Cardinal has recently issued an order to the priests officiating in his diocese not to administer the sacrament to any lady cyclist who wore " bloomers."
