A representative of the British Columbia Sugar Refining Company is visiting bere on tbe strength of the published reports of the sugar growing capabilities. He states he is greatly disappointed with tbe result of his visit, and declares there is not sufficient grown to allow of any being exported. He wanted 4000 tone and says he will have to fail back on Java for supplies. Hobart, This Day. Mr Herbert has been reappointed Agent-General for a further term of 12 months. Government decided to further prorogue Parliament till 7th prox. in order to allow the other colonids to lead the way in dealing with the Federal Enabeling Bills. Brisbane, This Day The Select committee exonerated members of the charges made in connection with the Consultation Bill.
