Welhngton Licensing Court.

(Per Press Association). Wellington, December 6. The Licensing Court haa been occupied all day in hearing the application for a transfer of. the license of the Waverley Hotel to Patrick Glees.on, and for tbe transfer of the premises from Lambton Quay to a site in Newtown. Strong opposition was shown in both proposals, but the Bench granted the transfer to Gleeson, saying he had been a hotelkeeper for 24 years, and not a single witness had been brought to prove he was not a man of good character, whereas on the contrary gover&l police inspectors certified to his fitness. After hearing a large quantity of evidence, a second application was adjourned till Monday.
