Gold Robbery on Board a Steamer.

(Per Press Association.) Sydney. Dec 6. When the steamer Whampoa reached Hong Kong from Australia last voyage it was found .£SOO in gold bad been stolen from tbe strong room. The chamber was not approached after loading at Thursday Island, and no one. lodged near. The work was evidently tbat of a skilled man. Only one box of gold was taken, though close to it was another containing £1500. The door was closed and tbe Cbubb lock replaced. No trace of the thief bas yet been discovered.
