A public meeting was held last night to consider the surplus labour question, when the following resolution was adopted : — " The Association of Surplus Labour and sympathisers respectfully solicit the co-operation of the general pnblic, together with the local M.H.R.'s, to urge upon the Government the necessity of providing an outlet for the surplus labour of the colony by establishing co-op-erative settlements and providing immediate work for those in need."
