The Stock Market.

(Per Press Association). Christchurch, Dec. 4. There was an ordinary attendance of buyers at the Addington market to-day. Entries— 7463 sheep, 568 cattle, and 300 pigs. Fat cattle— Good steers, £1 to £Q 15s ; lighter sortß, £5 to £7 ; heifers, £4. 10s to £6 17s 6d ; cows, £4 10s to £6 155. Dairy cattle—Cows, £3 to .£6 los. Store cattle— 3-year-old steers, ±5 10s ; 2£-yr-old steers, Jb'4 to £4 15s ; heifers, £i ; yearlings, £1 15s. Fat sheep— Prime freezing wethers, 13s 6d to 15s 6d; maiden ewes, 10s to lls 3d ; butchers' ewes, young heavy weights, 9s to 10s 6d ; ditto, old, 8s to 10s ; ditto medium, 6a 7s 6d. Fat Lambs— Over 100 came to band ; export buyers operating freely and competition keen. Prime freezing wethers, 10a 6d to 18s sd ; butchers', 6s to 9s 9d. Store sheep — About 3000 came to hand. Buyers were in good force and there was improved demand. 2- tooth, all wethers, 8s to lls 6d ; mixed sexes, 6s 6d to 9s. Pigs — Competition was irregular. Baconers, 3d per lb, and porkers, 2|d per lb.

Messrs Abraham and Williams report : — We have only the Palmerston sale of yesterday to report upon. Sheep, in short supply were in moderate demand. Store wethers in the wool made 12s ; do., 2- tooths, mixed, 10s sd ; shorn fat maiden ewes, 7s 9d; ewes and lambs, all counted, 5s Id. Cattle— Limited. Young sorts and 2- year steers maintained their value, dairy stock and heifers without inquiry. Two-year steers, £3 10s to £3 12s ; younger, £3 ss ; 15-month steers, £2 13s ; weaners and yearlings, mixed sexes, 80s to 40s ; well-bred Shorthorn cow, with calve at foot, £4 6s.
