Rangiwahia Notes.
(from a correspondent). On Monday we experienced most severe weather, at 2 p.m. it continued to rain steadily with a few heavy clops of thunder, and before 7 p.m. the rain Utterly poured down. All the creeks are in highfloods. and low-lying grounds are under water, but up to the present no i serious damage has been reported, except tbat several of the newly formed roads have been partially blocked by land stips occuring. A heavy snowstorm fell on the low ranges during Tuesday night, and the winds blew boistriously. Messrs Beard, Theobald and Co. who are at present engaged bushfelling on on Mr Beckett's property had, the other day, the misfortune to loose a considerable amount of valuables, through their tents taking fire daring their absence. The tents, clothing, etc., were completely destroyed. What appears to be a most useful invention to farmers and ruuholders in general has just been patented by Mr O'Dyar, of Rangiwahia, the article being a feucing staple, which,, after being driven in posts, stabs or pailings, is unable to be extricated. Mr O'Dyar proceeded to Wellington last week and secured his patent rights.
