Negro Minstrel Entertainment.

A minstrel entertainment was given in the Feilding Assembly Rooms by the Feilding " Tuis " last night. The first part consisted of songs and corner jokes by the " Tuis," which were well received, several encores to the songs being demanded. The " local hits " were new, original, and some of them the best we have ever heard in Feilding. Mr T. A. Howell was the interlocutor and Messrs A. L. Butler (as bones) and H. Flyger (tarnbo) were very funny with their conundrums. Mr Butler gave the songs " Wings of Love," •' Razors in the air," the latter being encored. Mr F. Beechy sang "When birds and blossoms dream, " which was encored. Mr H. Flyger sang " I was in it " and " Climbing up the Golden stair," receiving an encore. Mr A. Durrant sang " Leave me not in anger darling" ; Mr H. Isaccs gave " Ole Virginny" aud Mr J. Collingwood sang " Poor little Johnny," Mr G. Worsfold giving " You'll be my angel bye and bye." Mr T. A. Howell sang " Ole Kentucky home." The Tuis sang" Wings of love." as an opening piece and " Wooden- legged brigade " as a finale. The second part consisted of an overture by the string band, followed by the comic song " Amateur Actors," by Mr R. F. Haybittle ; character song, " Old Log Cabin in the Dell," by Mr F. Beechey; dramatic recitation, "How he Died " by Mr A. Butler ; Mr H. Flyger sang the Dutch song " Dree tousaud miles away," in character ; Mr Durrant sang " Nellie Ray," and Messrs R. F. Haybittle and F. Beechey gave the comic duet " Local Policemen " ; Mr A. Beechey concluding the second part with the song " Harbor Lights." The entertainment concluded with the mirthprovoking farce " Siguor Frangipani's Waxworks," the characters being represented as follows : — ' Signor Frangipani,' Mr R. F. Haybittle ; ' Long Jim,' Mr H. Flyger; 'Bob,' Mr A. Butler; ' Deaf Joe,' Mr F. Beechey ; ' Hannibal Washington,' Mr T. A. Howell ; ' Greenacre Greeneye,' Mr G. Worsfold ; ' Detective Bullseye,' Mr A.
