The Produce Report Trade.

Towards the end of August last the Government made enquiries of the Governments of New South Wales and Victoria as to what arrangements they had made for freights and carriage of prodace to England. Yesterday,- however, the following cable message catne to hand from the Premier of Victoria : — Re your telegram of 24th August as to carriage of produce this Government has now made an agreement with Dalgety and Co., Limited, and John Sanderson and Co. providing for the carriage of butter and cheese at f d per lb net ; meat £ d to per lb, measurement, cargo, 70s per ton measurement ; and fruit, 3s 9d per case. The contract will not come into operation until May next.
