(Per Press Association). Wellington, Novr. 27. The Premier left for the West Coast of the South Island this evening. Owing to the postponement of the steamer the Governor has abandoned his projected visit to Dunedin to attend the Agricultural Show and races. The Executive Council of the N. Z. Railway Officers Institute has been sitting here some days discussing several subjects of interest to the railway service prior to a conference with the Minister of Bailways, which takes place in a few days. Ckristchurch, Nov. 27. At a meeting of the Cyclist Union (cash) to night, the Manawatu Cycling Club was affiliated. It was decided that the next championship races under the Union should be conducted by the Palmerston North Cycling Club in conjuncwith the Union and that the arrangement of details in connection therewith should be left to the executive. At a meeting of the Hospital Board to- • day a letter was read from Mr T. S. "Weston, solicitor, claiming i-500 damages on behalf of a patient named Carlyon on the ground of non-treatment and neglect. It was carried " That the medical officer who had charge of the patient be requested to submit a report respecting the cass." Auckland, Nov. 27. A London cablegram with reference to the Cumberland claim, Thames, states that the negotiations for sale are satisfactory. Dunedin, Nov. 27. A man named Joseph Allwood, a cab proprietor living at St, Kilda, committed suicide this evening.
