A LIBEL ACTION. (Per Press Association.) Stpney, Nov. 27. In the slander case brought by Mr Ividd, ex Postmaster-General, against Mr W. J. Collins, claiming L 2900 damages for Statements alleged to have been made by the latter during the recent election, thnt Kidd allowed his friends to travel with his Parliamentary pass, a verdict for defendant was returned. Negotiations are proceeding for further large consignments of Californian wheat. Both wheat and flour have an easing tendency in consequence of buyers adopting a waiting policy. Adelaide, Nov. 27. In the Legislative Assembly the Defence Forces Bill has been introduced. It provides for the division of the service into two sections — active and reserve. If insufficient volunteers offer, the Government is empowered to declare military districts in which all men between the ages of 18 and 45 are liable to serve, single men being taken first.
