Torn to Pieces by Sharks.

A terrible sight was witnessed by the passengers of the P. and O.R.M.S. Valetta on the passage from London to Syd. ney. The ysssel had just anchored in Aden harbour, and all the passengers were assembled on deck, when two Somali boys came alongside and commenced diving for silver coins thrown overboard by the people on the mailboat. The diving feats of the two lads were being watched with considerable interest, when suddenly two sharks appeared, and in a moment seized the terror-stricken natives and literally tore them to pieces before the eyes of the passengers. Several attempts were made to rescue the lads and frighten away the monsters, but without success. The sharks were about 18ft long, and it is rarely that such large ones haye been seen in those waters. The occurrence did not seem to impress other Somali boys who were there for soon afterwards they were calmorous for the passengers to throw money into the water, offering to dive for it. As a matter of course there was no response to their entreaties after the shocking sight which had been witnessed.
