Town-killed Argentines have made 4£d to 5d per lb. The scarcity and dear* ness of country pork the end of last week, which brought prices up to 6fd to 7^d per lb, was of short duration, large con. signment from Ostend. this week, reducing rates to 4id and od per lb. New Zealand Mutton.— The Buteshire brought 12,492 carcases. This week has eeen a further rise in values, a few choice Canterburys have made 5d per lb, they are in demand and would readity com* mand 4sd to 4Jd per lb in numbers. North Island sheep are worth 4£d to 4gd per lb, Dunedin 4£d to 4id per lb. Stocks are moderate, are concentrated in the bands of a few holders, and afloats light, ail tending to the maintenance of present good prices. New Zealand Lamb. — The long season Baems at last to have dosed, the stimulus given to the trade by the continued spell of hot weather has died away, and there are now few enquiries, prices are nominally 5 Id to s*d per lb.
