Thomas Meredith Sheridan, whq described himself as president of the Brit* ish Medical Institute, and was arrested on a charge of having murdered a farmer's daughter named Jessie Nicholls, on whom an illegal operation was performed towards the end of August last, has buen convicted and sentenced to death. Sewell, caretaker of the Institute, was convicted of being an accessory after the fact and reinauded for sentence.
