A. and P. Autumn Show.
At the meeting of the Autumn Show sub-committee of the Manawatu and West Coast A. and P. Association on Saturday ten members were present. Considerable discussion took place about the best date for the show, and eventually it was decided to recommend the show be held on St. Patrick's Day, Tuesday, 17th March. All the afternoon was taken up with consideration of the prize schedule, which was not concluded when tbe Committee adjourned. It was understood that the Ust should embrace fat stock, dairy cows, pigs, cheese, butter, roots, grain, grass seeds, corn in the cob, bread (baker's and homemade), homemade cakes, scones, biscuits, pickles, jams, preserved fruits, hams and bacon, evaporated fruit, flowers, fresh fruit, vegetables, homemade wine, &c. Amongst the special attractions proposed are — dairy in work, fruit evaporator, band contest, driving contest, woodchopping competition. It is contemplated, if possible, to keep the show open at night if special arrangements can be made for lighting the grounds. The Committee adjourned till Thursday next, at 3.30 p.m., when consideration of the schedule will be completed — ' Standard.
