A Woman Run Over by a Train.

A SHOCKING DEATH. (Per Press Association.) Christchurch, This Day. An accident which resulted in the death of a young woman happened at tho Christchurch Railway Station last night. On the arrival of the 9.45 train from Lyttelton, the porter heard the scream of a woman from under a second class carriage and the train came to a standstill in a few yards, and the young woman was found lying on the rails. She expired in a few moments. The upper portion of the body was terribly mangled. No one saw her fall. It is supposed she either attempted to get off or fell before the train stopped. She was apparently a domestic servant. The body is not yet identified. Later. Tbe young woman killed last night is identified as Margaret Martigan, aged 19, a domestic servant at Livingstone's boarding- house. She had been on a visit to her mother at Lyttleton.
