The Stock Market.
Messrs Abraham and Williams report : — We have to report upon Pahiatua and Palmerston sales. At the former on Tuesday the entry was confined to cattle. The yarding was small and the market without quotable change. No beef came forward. Yearling steers, £2 2s ; yearling heifers, 33s 6d ; springing cows, £3 16s 6d to £5 ss ; weaners, 30s. Yesterday at Palmerston a moderate entry of sheep came forward. A fair demand cleared the bulk. Cattle, numerous, in better demand for all but young stock. Hoggets in wool, 7s 9d to 8s 9d ; shorn ewes with lambs, 9s; shorn fat ewes, medium weights, 6s Id to 6s 4d ; prime fat ewes and wethers, 8s 6d ; store ewes in wool, 7s lid. Cattle— Store bullocks, £4 18s ; others, Mss ; 3£-year steers, £3 5s to £4 4s ; heifers in calf, £2 3s 6d ; well-bred yearlißg heifers, £2 14s ; poor weaners, 18s ; milch cows, .£3 10s to £5 10s.
