— — — o — — — — The Committee of the Feilding Athletic Club met in Mr Sherwill's office last even ing. Present — Messrs W. A L Bailey (chairman), Worsfold, Saywell, Gosling, Woolven, F. Y. Lethbridge, G. Y. Lethbridge, Fisher, P. Thompson, and the Secretary. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. The following gentlemen were elected members of the Club: — Messrs A. G. Carty, A. G. Grant, W. Hodren, and S. Strachan. Correspondence was received from Messrs R. Essex and A. H. Way accepting the position of handicappers for the cycling even's at the sports ; and from Mr E. H. Fisher, secretary of the Feilding Cycling Club, requesting permission to use the Athletic Club's " properties " on the afternoon of Wednesday, the 20th inst., and on January 22nd, 1896. — The request was granted. It was decided that the Club join the Manawatu and West Coast Athletic Clubs' Protection Association. Mr E. Mills tendered his resignation as a member of the Committee. The resignation was accepted with regret, and Mr T. H. James was elected to fill the vacancy. The Oval being in a very wet condition, it was decided that the Secretary write to the Mayor asking him to request Captain Matthews, of the Salvation Army, not to use the Oval on Monday next, but to confine the gathering as much as possible to the lawn ; also, it was resolved to have the grass on the Oval cut immediately. A vote of thanks to the Chairman terminated the proceedings.
