THE FROZEN MEAT TRADE. (Per Press Association.) Melbourne, October 30. Obituary — Sir Jas. Patterson. He died suddenly from inflamation of the lungs. This Day. At the half-yearly meeting of the Riverina Frozen Meat Company the report stated that, since the beginning of work in July, they had shipped over 60,000 carcases of sheep. Next month they would ship 45,000. The system of the selection of the sheep was so drastic it is expected that the Company's meat will bring -id per lb more than the usual price. Adblaide, This Day. The Legislative Assembly by 22 to 18 removed from the State Advances Bill a provision for the issue of State notes, the only part left being the creditfoncler system. Tne Bill has passed through Committee. The Premier declined to state the yiews of the Government until to-mor-row. He accused the Opposition of corresponding and plotting with the New Zealand Opposition to defeat the treaty. Brisbane, Oct. 30. The Government bacteriologist has been instructed to prepare and conduct experiments for the destruction of rabbits by chicken cholera. The Marine Board suspended the certificate of Captain Burkell, of the steamer Indiania, which collided with the sailing vessel Alameda, for a month. Sydney, This Day. In the Legislative Assembly the Premier moved the second reading of the Federal Bill.
