THE POLITICAL CRISIS IN FRANCE. A SUCCESSFUL COMPANY. (Per Press Association.) London, October 30. The report of the English, Scottish and Australian Bank show after paying full interest on all stock there is a debit balance of L 6278. The liquidation of old accounts is slow, owing to the depression in the colonies. It adds that the bank's business continues to expand and satisfactory progress is being made. Dalgety and Co.'s balance sheet shows that the net profit, including the amount brought forward from last year, amounts to £90.193, of which £10,193 is carried forward. A dividend of 8 Der cent, is recommended. Princess Maud of Wales is 26 years of age, and Prince Charles, of Denmark her cousin, to whom she is betrothed, is 23. The Daily News declares that M. Bourgeois is the most probable successor to M. Ribot. Paris, October 30. M. Lockroy is mentioned as likely to succeed M. Ribot as Premier. In the event of the failure of the Radicals to form a Ministry, M. Ribot is likely to be re-summoned.
