+ (Per Press Association.) Gisborne, October 26. A fisherman named Parrick Morris and his son, aged 12 years, left here in an open boat on Thursday morning, and was last seem some little distance along the coast. A heavy nor'westerly gale sprung up and nothing has since been heard of the man and the boy. Fears are entertained for their safety. Auckland, Oct. 26. Sailed — The Taviuni for South Sea Islands. Arrived— H.M.S. Goldfinch from Mangaroa. The eight hours' demonstration took place to-day. Owing to rain setting in there were only 4000 people on the ground. A capital programme of sports was arranged, and the events were well contested. There was an art union with a cottage valued at £90 given away as a first prize. Timaru, Oct. 26. At the sale of portion of the Studholme Estate, including some of the best land in South Canterbury, the following prices were realised : — 108 acres at LlB, 107 at Ll4, 29 at Ll6 10s, 176 at Lls 10s, 86 at Lls, 268 at Lll, 45 at L 6.
