Mission Services at St. Bridget's.

An event of more than usual interest to the Roman Catholics of Feilding has been the arrival of His Grace Archbishop Redwood, for the purpose of holding confirmation and conducting mission services at the above Church. A number of the leading Catholics proceeded to Awahuri yesterday afternoon, where His Grace was met and escorted into Feilding. On arrival at the Church, Mr Tnohy, on behalf of the Roman Catholics of the Feilding district, presented His Grace -with an address of welcome. In the evening His Grace opened the mission by delivering a most able and eloquent sermon, which will not readily be forgotten by those who had the pleasure of hearing it. The altar was specially decorated for the occasion, and the opening service last night was a most impressive and devotional one, St. Bridget's being attended by a congregation that filled the Church to its utmost capacity, several members of other denominations being present. The Rev. Father Patterson acted as Master of Ceremonies, and zealously attended to the musical and other arrangements incidental to the success of the mission, lhe mission was continued this morning, two services being held, which were both very largely attended, numbers coming from in the country to hear the distinguished prelate, whose learning, piety, and oratorical powers, have been recognised in many lands. His Grace will continue the mission at 7 o'clock this evening, when a special sermon will be delivered, and benediction given.
