Burbish from Wellington was present and presided, be being on a visit through this district. A discussion took place on " Are boys sharper than girls." A vote was taken on the subject and resulted in favor of the girls. Yesterday afternoon the Catholic Church was opened by Archbishop Redwood, assisted by Father Patterson. The building was crowded, and half the people present could not obtain admission. Nine young people were confirmed and a very impressive service was gone through. Archbishop Redwood preached an eloquent sermon. The social in connection with the Mutual Improvement Society promises to be a great success this evening. Several good speakers are to be present from Feilding. The Anglican Church will be opened next Monday by the Bishop of Wellington.
