(Per Press Association). London, October 7. The English wheat market is steady, the Continental dull, and the American unchanged. Of tallow 1400 casks were offered and 1225 sold ; medium mutton 22s 9d ; medium beef 22s 3d. Butter, Danish 112s. The N.Z.L. and M.A. Company received the following London market cable dated sth October —Frozen meats : The mutton market is unsettled. Canterbury mutton is worth 4|d per lb ; Wellington mutton is worth 4&d per lb. Prime N.Z. lamb is worth s|d per lb. N.Z. Hemp — Market is firm, medium is worth £W per ton. Tallow— There is a good Continental demand for lower and medium sorts. Good beef tallow is worth 23s per cwt.
