Live Cattle Trade.

(Per Press Association). London, Seps. 23. The Standard says the majority of bullocks brought by the Southern Cross are scarecrows, and adds that the result of this voyage, fortunately for the cause of humanity, shows the futility of attempting to establish the live stock trade. Wellington, Sept. 24. The ninety bullocks on board the Nairnshire, which leaves for London, were shipped at Sydney by Messrs Bergl, Brabbin and Co. They are superior to those which were on board the Nairnshire on her last visit here about seven months ago. The cattle, which are under the charge of Mr Mahoney, and four assistants, are in good condition, and stood the passage from Sydney very well, considering that some rough weather was met' with. Specially-prepared feed is on board for the use of the cattle, and they arc well housed on the forward and after parts of the deck.
