The Live Stock Trade.
(Per Press Association). London, Sept. 12. All the Southern Cross' stock refused food at first, but settled down after ten days. The sheep was considered poor. Two of the largest of cattle died from the heat 14 days ago. A Smithfield expert thinks only forty of the Southern Gross sheep are good, and these are worth about 35s each. Sydney, Sept. 18. The Herald sey a the experimental shipments of live stock strongly illustrate that the London market is well within our range, and the operation affords a remunerative outlet, In spite of the drawback of distance Australia possesses countervailing advantages, which will always secure her position on the Home market.
