Wellington Stock and Produce Market.

A. O. Tame and Co. report of the markets for the week ending 13t September : —Fat Sheep— Prime quality is getting scarce and prices moving up, 14s to 14 6d for heavy weights ; medium, 11s 6d to 12s 6d; ewes, heavy weights, 11s 6d to 12a 6d for best ; store sheep, all classes, in very keen demand, and this season we expect to sea a really good increase in the value of slieop. We quote sale of wethers, 9s to 10s 6d ; hoggets, 7b to 8s 6d for best ; 5s 6d to 6s 6d for medium ; inferior, 3s 6d to 4s 6d ; young ewes in lamb, 8s 6d to 9s 6d ; for good ewes f.tn., 5s to 7s 6d. Fat cattle gradually getting scarce, prices steadily rising ; 20s for best bullocks ; cows selling better, 17s has been paid. Store cattle— Splendid demand for all offering ; grown bullocks, £4 to £4 15s ; 2-year steers, £3 to L 3 12s 6d ; yearlings, 35a to 455 ; weaners, 20 to 30s. Dairy cattle — Demand strong for all close to calving ; young good cows, L 6 to L 7 10s ; heifers L 4 10s to L 5 10s. Pigs— Just feeling the demand now ; have sold good breeding sows to 40s, and have lot more offering ; seven weeks pigs, 7s to 8s 6d ; porkers, 18s to 20s. Horses — At our yards on Saturday, we had again a very email entry, very few horses of any description coming in. Buyers were about for both draughts, express and harness horses, and good sorts would have sold. Privately and publicly we have made the following sales:— Harness horses, £6 10s to £9 ss. Sheepskins and wool—Remarkably good demand at our weekly sales ; 5d to s£d for clean-pelted skins, 4d to 4|d for seconds. Green ekins, best, 5s to 5s sd ; medium, 4s to 4* 6d We sweep the floor clean every week, and demand for more. Hides, 18s to 23s for best ; cow hides, 103 to 12* 6d. Wool — Market strong ; prices promise well for coming local wool sales
