A WAGES COMPARISON. THE FLOW of ENGLISH CAPITAL (Per Press Association.) Sydney, Sept. 11. The Presbyterian Federal Assembly has adopted the committee's report on union, and has remitted the same to the Supreme Courts of negotiating churches. The final scheme will be submitted to the next Federal Assembly. Melbourne, Sept 11. The Argus, referring to the woollen goods duty, says, New Zealand turns out the pure article, paying 22s 6d per week in wages against 18s 6d here, on a twenty per cent duty. The financial editor of the Argus, discussing the speculation by British investors in the colonial gold ventures, says large sums of British mouey bave materially aided the colonies at a critical point and New Zealanders who have lost their all in financial and land enterprises are now rebuilding their broken fortunes by means of mining prospects.
