The German, Von Schoensberg, who bas been appearing in Court rather frequently of late, as an interpreter on behalf of a restaurant keeper in cases against bis wife and who was charged with libel on the information of Mr Jellicoe, was this afternoon committed to the lunatic asylum. There are 163 men (37 single) engaged on relief works, and the total number denendent on them is 667, over half of whom are children. Last year on tbe relief works at the Queen's Drive 200 men were employed, and they had 94 women and 301 children dependent on tbem. A system of marking meat for export is being shown here by Mr J. S. Smythe, which bas received much commendation from experts. It is a combination of two patents by which the brand is imprinted on the skin in a series of shallow perforations that do not disfigure the carcase. Smythe has secured the rights for Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, New Zealand, Argentine and England. Christchurch, September 11. In the libel action Worthmgton v. At a meeting of the milk suppliers to the Woodville Cheese Factory yesterday tbey agreed to accept 2t|d per gallon for milk for the season, with a share of tbe profits if tbe cheese realised beyond a certain price
