The Ardgowan Estate.

(Per Press Association.) Dunedin, Sept. 4. At the Compensation Court to-day in connection with the Ardgowan estate, the taking of the evidence; for the plaintiff was concluded. Mr Newton, in opening for the Minister for Lands, said he would call witnesses to show that the land would not return a profit on the value upon it. He dealt with the legal aspect of severance and contended that the land must be contiguous. Evidence was given by Mr J. Church, who valued the land at £7 per acre on an average, and A. H. Mandio and Mr Mclntosh, whose valuation was £6 16s 4d per acre.
