The Apiti Dairy Company.

A general meeting of shareholders in the above Company was held in Guy's Hall last night. Mr E. Nix (chairman) presided. The minutes of the previous meeting wero read and confirmed. The Chairman informed the shareholders that the meeting had been called for the purpose of laying before them a summary of what had been done in connection with the factory up to the j present and to alter the Articles of Association. The Secretary's balance sheet showed j that L 4 5s had been received in application fees and L 36 5s in allotment fees and the expenditure up to date had been £300 10s sd. It was stated that the total expense of the factory would be about LBOO, and it would be ready to receive milk about the first week in October ; that the factory will be capable of handling 2000 gallons of milk — 600 gallons more than was estimated for same cost. The Articles of Association to be altered wero "The number of Directors be eleven, seven to form a quorum, and the Directors retiring after the first general meeting bo four annually." Mr T. J. Clapham moved, That the number of Directors be seven, viz., Messrs E. Nix, W. Vicary, E. Miller, T. J. Clapham, Johnson, C- H. Miller and Osbornc. This was seconded by Mr Johnson, and carried. Resolved, That the number of Directors to form a quorum be three. Resolved, That two Directors retire annuallj r instead of four. Resolved, That the meeting be adjourned for a fortnight (11th Sept.) to confirm the alteration to Articles of Association. Mr Guy moved a hearty vote of thanks to the Directors for the satisfactory manner in which the}- had carried out their duties. Mr Webb seconded this motion, and it was carried unanimously.
