Fires at Palmerston North.
ACTION BY THE INSURANCE COMPANIES. (Per Press Association.) Wellington, August 26. A special meeting of the fire insurance companies of Wellington was held this afternoon to consider what action should be taken in view of the large number of tires in Palmerston North, v,'hen a committee was appointed to visit Palmers- " ton at an early date and subsequently advise such a course of action as may be deemed desirable.
