The N.Z.L. and M.A Company (Limited) is in receipt of the following cablegram from its London oflice : — Tallow— There is rather batter demand : New Zealand fine mutton is worth 23s 3d per cwt ; good beef, 21s 6d per cwt. Frozen meat — Mutton, market firm. Canterbury is worth 4d per lb ; Wellington is worth 3Jd per lb. (PEE PBE33 ASSOCIATION.) London. August 16. The hemp market is dull. Fair quality, Wellington shipmeutj brought £14 15s. Tallow — Medium mutton, 225; beef, 20s 6d. The English wheat market has a downward tendency, the Continental is firm, and the American declining.
