(Per Press Association.) Paris, August 15. General Duchesne refuses to treat with the Hovas except in the capital. The Queen is likely to retreat southwards. The General who neglected' tlic defence of Marovay has been tried aud burned alive. The French are within a few days' march of the capital of Madagascar. The Queen is making overtures for peace but the P.e'.uier declares that he will fight to ihe death, and proposes to burn the town.
