Campbelltown Items.

[From our own correspondent. ] The foundation stone of the new Anglican Church was laid yesterday by the Rev J. D. Russell. The reverend gentleman commenced the proceedings with a prayer, and then thanked all those who had so assiduously worked for the erec tion of the proposed new church, more particularly the ladies' committee. Documents, etc , were enclosed in a bottle and placed under the stone. Prayer and a hymn terminated the ceremony, which was witnessed by a large number of friends. It is expected that the church will be completed by the end of October. Sickness is still very prevalent in and around Campbelltown, especially among children. This is much to be regretted as the school examination takes place in a few days, and both teachers and scholars will suffer through no fault of their own. A large number of lambs are now to be seen in the Campbelltown and Sandon districts, and docking will soon be commenced amongst a few of the earlier lambs.
