JPer Press Association | London, July 21. There was fair competition at the wool sales. Prices were maintained. The Americans are buying heavily. Tallow— Medium mutton, 21s 3d ; beef, 19s 6d. At the sales 1550 casks were offered, of which 800 were sold. Rabbit skins of good quality have declined id, and common Id. Silver is quoted at 2s 6id. The following London market cable has been received by the N.Z.L. & M.A. Company :— Tallow— There is a fair demand for medium qualities, but other descriptions are slow of sale. Quotations have declined 6d per cwt since last report. Present quotations are : — Fine mutton, 235 ; good beef, 20s 6d per cwt.
