[Per Press Association.] London, July 12. The Bank of England returns, published to day, show the total reserve to be L 27,598,000, the proportion of reserve to liabilities being 54-10 per cent. Three months' bills are discounted at § per cent. New Zealand 3 per cents are quoted at 95&. Imperial consols, 2£ per cent, LlO7 15s. N.S.W. 4 per cent, Lll7 10s. New Zealand 4 pc» cent, Lll2 15s. New Zealand 3s per cent, LlO5 10s. New Zealand long-berried wheat, nominal, 265. Hemp is in fair demand, 144 bales fair Wellington sold at L»l2 ss. New Zealand mutton -First quality, 3i per lb; second qualiiy 3d. Cheese is dull. Best New Zealand, 88s. Adelaide wheat is weaker at 26s 6d ; and Victorian flat, 26s 6d. For Australian on passage, sellers ask 28s 9d, and buyers offer 235. The Government estimates the American wheat harvest at 897,000,000 bushels—a decrease of 14 per cent compared with 1894. . Colonial oats, iine quality, averaged 24s 6d ; common, 20s. Sugar— German beet, 10s ; Java, nrm 14s. , Butter — Danish has advanced two kroner. Owing to the continuance of drought, supplies are short and the mavkot is hardening.
