The Pacific Cable.
(Per Press Association). Melbourne, This Day. Replying to a deputation from the Chamber of Commerce the Premier said he would give the Pacific Cable scheme every assistance, and instruct the AgentGeneral to co-operate with Britain, Canada, and other countries, in pressing the matter as one of urgency ; alse to communicate with the other colonies urging them to action.
