Sisters Mitchell and 13 rone I belt and Bro. Howe were elected as delegates to attend the di-trict meeting to be held at Sandon on the 20th inst. Bro. J. B. Several items of interest were rendered during the evening, and the fraternal greetings of the Feilding Lodge were received by Bro. Merrett, who had visited their lodge. Whooping cough is becoming more prevalent here, and many adults are catching tins annoying malady. Mr C IT. Bowater, the head-te;icher of the Campbelltown school, has gone to the Wellington Hospital to seek treatment for an affection of the throat. He, however, is not seriously ill, as he has sought medical aid in proper time. Our little town is still prospering, and there is now timber on the ground for a saddler's shop, which, with the three other shops now nearly finished, makes a good addition to the place. The female members of the Church of England, who are holding meetings every Thursday afternoon, are making great strides towards augmenting the church funds. They are taking in sewing for others, aad what with the the things they make and sell their earnings have surpassed expectations. At 4 o'clock a tea is provided, to which anyone may go for a small fee. One gentleman who was present the other day handed over, in addition to his tea fare, the handsome sum of five guineas. The work these enthusiastic members are doing for the church reflects very great credit on them.
