Messrs Lowes and lorns report at Masterton: — Fat and forward wethers, 7s 9d : good stores. 6s 6d to 7s 6d ; fat ewes, 7s ; medium, 6s to 6s 6d ; forward empty ewes, 5s 6d ; 2-tooth wethers, 5s 3d to 6s 3d . 3 oun» ewes in lamb, 5s 6d ; sound ewes, 4s 6d ; aged, Is 9d to 2s 6d ; lambs ss; fat steers, good, £6 ; small, 80s ; fat cows, 80s to 00s ; store bullocks, 703 to 92s 6d : store pigSi 10s ; hacks and light harness horses, £5 10s to £7 10s. A. G. Tame and Co.'s report on the Wellington market for week ending 16th May : Fat stock. — We held a special sale of fat cattle and sheep at our Hutt yards yesterday. The cattle were partly prime and good beef, and the sheep, consisting of wethers and ewes, were for the most part in good marketable condition. We quote — Wetliors, 3s 6d to 7s 6d ; ewes, 6s 6d ; beef, 17s 6d to 18s. Milk cows now coming to calve are wanted. We could place a good number at from £6 to .£lO, according to breed, quality, etc. Young cattle are saleable at from 2 to 2£ years ; old steers, 45s to 60s ; yearlings, 25s to 30s. Pigs.— Stores are in request, and if any of our clients have some we would be pleased to get particulars. Hides. — No change to report ; prices still on a par with last quotations. Tallow. — Prime rendered mutton, tit for shipping, 17s 6d to 18s ; medium to good, 14s 6d to 16s 6d. Wheat and oats both looking up, consequently prices hardening. Fla^. — Prices and quotatiqns nominal, say, for good i>l3, ' inferior and medium £8 to £10.
