MR SANDILANDS IN REPLY TO MR GIESEN.
TO TIIK KDITOII OF TIIK STAR. Sj R) — ;\i r (jiesen in his letter today takes exception to the published figures &-iveu by me in the announcement of the result of the late poll. The number ot the voters nnd votes respectively stated therein at 368 and 472 was correct. The number of votes polled against the proposal was also correctly s:ated at 13. It is quite clear, therefore, that not more than 13 individual voters could have voted against the proposal. It the votes registered against the proposal represent less than 13 voters the greater is the victory. It is also quite apparent that ilr Gicsen h;is been misled by his friends as t > the way in which they voted. To use a very common expri'ssi'>n they have been " pulling his l<"g." 1 am, itc, W. A. SANDILANDS. FeildinL', May 17th, 1805.
