WAITUNA.

At a meeting of householders held in the Waituna schoolroom last evening the following gentlemen were elected a committee for the ensuing year : — Messrs H. C. Wilson, J. H. Murray, J. Gemmell, W. McDougall, J. Wallis, J. Northcott, and P. Thomson, Mr H. O. Wilson was elected chairman and treasurer. This school started as an aided school and has been the means, under the skilfull teachership Miss McDougall, of promoting much good among the children of the district, in spite of the many disadvantages and some discouragement from the Education Board. Thirtyseven pupils are packed in a room, the outside measurement of which is 24 x 18 feet.
