SECOND DAY.
Tbe weather was gloriously fine today for the second day's races, and the attendance was again good. Following are the results up to tbe time of going to press. Denbigh Stakes, of 60 soys. 36, MrE. N. E. Calthrop's Monte Carlo, Bst 2lb (A. McCormick) 1 30, Mr J, M. Fraser's Allan-a-dale, Bst lib (H* Fairbrother) ... 2 0, Mr U. Maramu's Tuhiwai, Gst 71b (W. Scott) ... : ... 3 All started. Monte Carlo and Zanella were first away. Racing round the back of the course Allan-a-dale improved his position and led into the straight followed by Zanella. When halfway down the straight Monte Carlo came with a great rush and won by half a head; Tuhiwai being a good third, and tho remainder closo up. Totalisator £221. Dividend £5 10. Second HuRDLESj of 50 soys; 110 Mr R. Kiugau's Auroa lpsfc 7,1 b, (owner) ... ... ... ... 1 111 $1; J. areeja/s. Nawatt •$$ i&b t
(J. Morris) ... 2 57 MrR. Waitere's Rangipai lOst 131 b, (A. Hall) 3 Also started— Unity lOst 21b, Sunbeam 9st. Unity was the first to move, followed by Rangipai. Passing the stand for the first time Narrate led with Auroa. Unity, Rangipai and Sunbeam in the order named. At the back of the course Auroa went up and assumed the lead at the lionie turn and won with Narrate in hot pursuit under the whip. Time, 3min. 1 l-sth sees. Totalisater, L 368. Dividend, L 2 lis. Second Hack Hurdles— Spreydon 1, Tangaroa 2, Barman 3. Time, 3min 5 3-sth sees. Dividend, L 2 lis.
