The 'Varsity Boat Race.

(Per Press Association). London, March 80. The annual 'Varsity boat race, between Oxford and Cambridge, was rowed to-day. Oxford jumped away with the lead, which they maintained throughout and won easily by a length and a half. Time, 20min. 50sec. This makes Oxford's sixth, consecutive win. March 31. The water! was lumpy in consequence of a stiff head wind blowing yesterday, and Oxford, winning the toss, chose the Surrey shore. Immense crowds j^ned the banks of the river. Cambridge was first to get away, but Oxford led by half a length at Craven's. Hammersmith Bridge was shot in 7 niin. 32sec. The Cambridge boat made repeated spurts, but without avail, and after reaching Thorney Croft the race was merely a procession. The defeated crew were all new bands. Oxford contained six old blues.
