Owing to the unfavourable symptoms, in Lady Augusta Boyle's case, a consultation took place between Drs Haines, Lindsay and Knight to-day at Govern* ment House. It is understood the decision ia to postpone the operation as there is a probability of saving the foot. Messrs Crowther and Lang, Ef's.H.B, and W. Jennings, M.L.C., intend taking a trip over the Stratford route from Te Kuiti about the end of the month. Wellington, March 17. The Arawa with the colonial mails of the 21st Eebruary, arrived at 'Frisco on the 14th March (due date.) The Mariposa, with the English mails of 23rd February left Frisco for Auckland on the Bth of March, one day late, Cubistchurch, March 17. At the annual meeting of the Canter* bury A. and P. Association the balancesheet showed a credit of Ll3B after extinguishing the bank overdraft of L 343. The principal item in the receipts was L4OO, the price obtained for the old showground. Mr G-. Stavel ey was ejected President. At the inquest on Harry Richards found dead in a boardinghouse, the medical evidence showed that death resulted from syncope. This Day.
