At the Council meeting the application that the team for the district match be reduced from 20 to 10 men was refused, but it is probable the districts will be re-constructed before next meeting with a view of giving some of the districts without a complete team this year representation. Taranaki will probably be tacked on to Auckland and Nelaon and Marlborough to North Canterbury. The weather to-day was unfavorable for shooting until late in the day. In the morning a high nor'-wester was blowing, which at noon changed to the south, and remained right through. For a couple of hours in the afternoon drenching rain fell. In the bronze »iedal match G. Robinson, of Port Victoria, Wairoa, won the chief prize with the fine score of 87, out of 100, having: made the possible at 500 yds. At the 500 yds in the Otago match he also made the possible (35), as also did Mooseman (Wanganui) and Cameron (North Wairarapa). The shooting in the Otago match was much better than in the same match at Christchurch in 1894, and at the 700 yds Jack (Dunedin) put on the fine score of 32. While at the 700 yds firing there was little or no wind, but at the beginning rain was falling. At the completion of the match the following were the leading aggregates — Kirk, Petone, 252 ; W.
