Manawatu County Council.

• The ordinary monthly meeting was held .at Sanson yesterday. Present — Crs Ransom (chairman), Robinson, Strang, Hammond, Masters, Taylor, and' Wilson. The following resolutions were passed : Resolved, That slaughtering licenses be granted to W. K. Simpson Oroua Bridge, J. Norman Feilding, R. Oppatt Mt Stewart riding, A. S. Easton Foxton, M. Alderson Campbelltown, J. Miller Awahuri. Resolved, That alterations asked for by T. Ewart, F. Richmond, and Edwin Sandman, be agreed to in the rate roll. Resolved, That the Chairman apply to the Bank of Australasia for an overdraft excess limit of £1520, up to 31st March, 1895. Resolved, That H. Wishaw's tender for collecting dog tax for the year 1895 be accepted. Messrs Bull and Whisker waited on the Council in regard to protective works on Oroua river, pointing out the necessity of proceeding with the work at once. Resolved, That tenders be called for the work on Oroua river, to be in within a fortnight, and that Cr Wilson have power to accept tenders if the settlers will guarantee the Council against loss to the extent of .£l5O in the event of Government not agreeing to the loan. Resolved, That tenders be called for metal for repair on Bank line, Campbelltown and Waitoi ridings, and also for formation on Tompkin's line ; tenders to be in by noon of next meeting of \ Council. Proposed by Cr Ransom, seconded by Cr Hammond, proformo, That the new County Office be erected at Campbelltown. Proposed, as an amendment, by Cr Masters, seconded by Cr Wilson, That the new Council office be built at Sanson. — Carried. Resolved, That tenders for the supply os metal required in the Overseer's report be invited to be-in by noon of next next meeting of Council. Resolved, That 150 yards of clay be placed on Taikorea road for repairs. Accounts amounting to j£BB2 6s lOd were passed for payment, and tho Council adjourned.
